My husband and I began mod process 11/09 and were passed from one person to the next telling us we would get it and then telling us to start over. Our payment had been increased by Chase because they paid our insurance twice and other bills were overwhelming at about 8000 a month. My husband had steady income for over 10 years but we could not afford a mortgage of 3100 a month. He was killed in Aug 2010 and I was told that they would not foreclose on me allowing me to become financially stable or pay in full from wrongful death lawsuit. Then they put a sale date telling me two days before xmas. I am filing bankruptcy, and they have told me once again they will give me mod, and then put a sale date saying its inevetible and that they didnt get my mod because they are overwhelmed with paperwork. I have taken tremendous steps towards financial stability in the 6 months since my husband passed and will be able to afford my home that we put all of our savings into and my three boys can stay in the home they lived with their father rather than be put out on the street.
