I have a government insured mortgage for land and home with property improvements. However, Vanderbilt claims that they do not take government funds – therefore no loan modification. My husband died, my income has been reduced. I have black mold in my home, My payment has gone up 200.00 and Vanderbilt will do nothing to work with me. I have paid 7 years on a 15 year loan. The home is on my husband\’s family land and it is tied up in the mortgage. There are alot of people in Alabama in the same boat and we are desperate for help. I never received a GFE, was never told my credit score and the interest rate went up from 8% to 10.75 at closing. My husband was black and I am white, I feel we were discriminated against. The numbers do not match on the paperwork as well and neither do the payment dates. I have tried to talk to Vanderbilt but they humiliate me and are abusive. Please help me if you can. I will get out and canvas for clients in Alabama if you help me. I am a paralegal and have a great deal of experience and don\’t mind working to assist the process so I and others in my situation do not lose their home. My home is all I have left of my life.
